Seed Studies
Studies on variability, germination, desiccation sensitivity and storage of seeds from evergreen tree species were carried out for seeds of Garcinia gummi-gutta, Dysoxylum malabaricum, Myristica fragrans and Dipterocarpus indicus. All the four species are recalcitrant in nature and seeds of G. gummi-gutta are dormant recalcitrant. The viability of G. gummi-gutta and D. malabaricum seeds can be prolonged by storing at 15°C temperature.

Leafy stem cuttings of teak

Rooted leafy stem cutting

Rooting of cuttings of E. tereticornis in sand medium of teak in 60 days Period
Change in functional groups with loss of viability in recalcitrant seeds of Madhuca indica seeds has been observed using FTIR.

Rooted cladodes of Casuarina Equisetifolia
Unique pattern of germination of seed fragments has been observed in Garcinia gummigutta

Rooted leafy cuttings of G. angustifolia
Assessment of seed quality in unimproved populations, seed production areas and seed orchards of Tectona grandis.

Variation in fruit size of Teak
Variation in seed characters and oil content was observed for seeds from 24 provenances of Jatropha curcas and 25 plus trees of Pongamia pinnata.
